SGE School Garden Club
The Garden Club
The SGE School Garden Club provides an opportunity for students to gain a broader understanding of the natural world and our food sources. Participants will have a chance to develop a connectedness to the eco-system that includes them and the broader community. Students will work with teachers, parents, and community members to build our school garden "from the ground up" to create an educational and fun outdoor classroom from which we will all benefit.
Mr. Wnek ~ Moderator
Mr. Rich Wnek, the Health and Physical Education teacher, leads the Garden Club. He has a passion for organic farming and fills his family's table with produce from his home garden. With Mr. Wnek's guidance and expertise, our garden will surely flourish.
Ms. Fitzpatrick ~ Co-Moderator
Ms. Fitzpatrick, the Library and Technology teacher, is assisting Mr. Wnek run the Garden Club. She admits that she does not have a green thumb, and is excited to learn about organic gardening alongside the students. Ms. Fitz is most excited to document the progress of the garden through photos, video, and updates to the website.
